Kelsey and Kiefer's Small Town Wedding
Katee Pederson
I first met Kelsey and Kiefer at Kiefer's brother's wedding almost two years ago. I was photographing their big Ukrainian celebration and Kiefer was the last unmarried sibling in their family of 7. He and Kelsey decided to change that and soon after got in touch with me to book their own wedding day.
The cool July morning was spent on the Zuchkan farm as Kelsey and the women in her life got ready while sharing laughs and sipping on mimosas. From there we travelled to Kiefer's family farm for the most beautiful outdoor ceremony. All of the woodwork including signs, benches, and the altar where made by Kiefer while Kelsey decorated and potted the flowers lining the aisle. I thought this was such a great alternative to pricey cut flowers, and they looked just as beautiful. There ceremony was made extra special with their dog Echo joining in the fun and the couple also planted a tree using soil from both of their family farms which they plan to transplant into their own yard.
We stayed at the Hawreluik farm for a couple of hours to take photos before making our way to Foam Lake for the big party. The evening was full of great food, heartfelt speeches, and a whole lot of fun on the dance floor! It was a true blessing to photograph Kelsey and Kiefer's wedding and capture the joy and love surrounding them throughout day.
