Revelstoke Commercial Photographer - Old School Eatery
Katee Pederson
Old School Eatery is one of the most unique and delicious restaurants in Revelstoke if you ask me. And you’re here, so let’s say you did.
Built inside an old elementary school, it gets its name honestly. The dining room pays homage to the classroom it’s housed in with a chalkboard wall and photos of students from years past. Only instead of a teacher’s desk there’s now a full bar with some of the tastiest cocktails around. Out front you’ll also find patio seating with views of Mount MacKenzie and Mount Begbie (as well as a playground if you bring the kids). The seasonally rotating menu has something for everyone and is sure to keep you on your toes trying something new.
I was asked to produce photos for their website and had way too much fun doing so. Owner Chris van der Linden gave me a ton of creative control which allowed me try out some new ideas. His only rule was not to show his face, but I convinced him to break it.
First was our outdoor shoot, which will make its debut on the website come patio season. We didn’t quite get the sunset I was hoping for, but I sneakily added a flash to replace it and I’m guessing you wouldn’t know the difference.
The following week I got to work indoors, documenting the space and a bit of the cooking process. A little staff family meal before they opened for the evening and walah, you have a website. It’s that simple, right Revy Web Design?
