Revelstoke Wedding - Hallie and Andrew Alpine Bridal Session
Katee Pederson
When Hallie and Andrew told me they were planning portraits in the alpine for their wedding, I knew we were the right match. There are a lot of places in the outdoors that I feel best with a camera in hand, and the alpine is one of those. And when they decided on Mount Begbie as their location of choice, even better! As I write this, I’m looking out my living room window at Mount Begbie’s glacier peeking through the clouds. I can see the spot just below it, where our helicopter landed, and I’m taken back to that scorching summer day in June.
The morning started with Hallie and her family, getting ready in their suite at the Sutton Place Hotel while Andrew was mountain biking with his buds just outside at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. I met up with him and his crew in the pool shortly after and caught Hallie peeking down from her window (probably wishing that her hair and make up routine were as quick as Andrew’s that day). She was ready well before most brides, however, so we had extra time to stop for an impromptu axe throwing lesson on the way to the ceremony location!
The sun was blazing down on the deck of Revelation Lodge as guests were eager to get the ceremony started. Almost too eager, as Andrew realized his parents were missing while Hallie was walking down the aisle! They made it in time for the “I do’s” though and the celebration for the happy couple was quick to get started.
Andrew’s longtime best friend and I joined the newlyweds for a helicopter tour of the area before touching down on Mount Begbie. It was a gorgeous bluebird day in the alpine and the perfect way to cool down from the summer heat in the valley below. After a champaign toast and some time taking photos, we all returned to the reception for dinner, speeches, and a late night of merriment.
