This July I assisted in leading a group of 16 participants (with 4 other leaders) on a 3 night mountaineering trip in Yoho National Park in BC through the ACC Columbia Mountains Section. We stayed in the backcountry Stanley Mitchell Hut, which is operated by the Alpine Club of Canada. The hut is located on the lands of the Blackfoot, Ktunaxa, Tsuut’ina, and Metis Peoples.

Early in the winter a couple fellow board members in the Alpine Club of Canada Columbia Mountains Section and I started planning a club ski touring and split boarding trip to the Asulkan Cabin in Glacier National Park. We booked the entire ACC hut for 3 nights at the end of February, arriving on Friday and leaving Monday.

One of the other couples got engaged on the slopes, so I insisted we fit in a quick photo session before we left on our last morning. We wandered around the Alpine Club of Canada grounds with the Three Sisters across the valley for no more than 20 minutes before we packed up the vehicles and headed on our way.
