My annual look book photoshoot for a Canadian wholesale accessory company called Shagwear took place this month.
We all spend a lot of time skiing and snowboarding together, so what better way to document this time in their lives as an engaged couple?! We took advantage of the second last resort day of the year and had some fun!
Hailey and Jérémie travel to Revelstoke from Northern Alberta each winter to snowmobile and snowboard. When they got engaged, they knew right away that they wanted to celebrate with a photo session in Revelstoke to document this milestone in their relationship.
Through the Alpine Club of Canada Columbia Mountains Section and with support from Tourism Revelstoke, Kirsten put together an evening of connection and learning for women who ski tour and splitboard or are interested in getting started.
Michael got in touch when he and a group of friends from Nashville, Tennessee were planning a Canadian ski vacation. With 2 days at Revelstoke Mountain Resort before moving east to the Rockies, they wanted to capture some photos of them skiing and riding together.
Queer Shred Revelstoke, an inclusive multi sport group aimed at getting Queers, Femmes, Poly Folk and Allies out and active in nature.
While on vacation from Toronto, Matthew and Sayble joined me for some photos surrounded by the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains.
One week before leaving Australia this January for a month long Canadian holiday, Monica and Pete stumbled across an announcement for free wedding ceremonies on Valentine’s Day at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
Looking back on 2022 I feel so content. I’m who I’m supposed to be, doing what I’m supposed to be doing, with the person I’m supposed to be with, where we’re supposed to be. It’s just right.
Amber and Ryan’s first date in Canada (it’s a bit of a long story) was at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. As they enjoyed a drink at Revelation Lodge Amber caught herself thinking that it would be a nice place to get married. Fast forward a few years and a baby boy together, that’s exactly what they did.
After a successful proposal (in my backyard!) and beautiful engagement session at Moses Falls, Veronica and Kalon got right to work planning their wedding. I was thrilled to join them for their big day in July and get to meet more of their family and friends who are such a big part of their story together.
Tara and Curtis came to me with one request, to go hiking for their wedding photos. There was a slight catch though - Tara would be 8 months pregnant.
Amanda and her family were staying in Nakusp for a week, so we met up at Blanket Creek Provincial Park to explore Sutherland Falls and the bank of the Columbia River.
When Hallie and Andrew told me they were planning portraits in the alpine for their wedding, I knew we were the right match. There are a lot of places in the outdoors that I feel best with a camera in hand, and the alpine is one of those.
This month I had the pleasure of visiting Nelson’s newest creative studio and photographing their space and instructors.
This July I assisted in leading a group of 16 participants (with 4 other leaders) on a 3 night mountaineering trip in Yoho National Park in BC through the ACC Columbia Mountains Section. We stayed in the backcountry Stanley Mitchell Hut, which is operated by the Alpine Club of Canada. The hut is located on the lands of the Blackfoot, Ktunaxa, Tsuut’ina, and Metis Peoples.
One of my favourite ways to spend a summer day in Revelstoke is by paddling the Columbia River. It’s such a fantastic perspective of the valley! I’ve completed different portions of the river by canoe, kayak, raft, and SUP, and have outlined how you can do the same below.
Somehow, in the midst of renovating our entire house, running the local chapter of the ACC, Bryce managing an entire IT and development team while I operate a business, and finding time to enjoy the great outdoors we live in, Bryce and I decided it was a perfect time to get our first dog.
Through my partnership with Revy Web Design, who built Kat’s website, I was able to start photographing some of her dreamy pieces. Since last summer, I’ve been constantly stopping in at the store to pick up new pieces and photograph them before they are listed on the website or sent off to their new homes. Kat and her team work non-stop and there are always new and unique items for me to drool over.
Early in the winter a couple fellow board members in the Alpine Club of Canada Columbia Mountains Section and I started planning a club ski touring and split boarding trip to the Asulkan Cabin in Glacier National Park. We booked the entire ACC hut for 3 nights at the end of February, arriving on Friday and leaving Monday.
When considering professional headshots, most people have flashbacks to high school picture day.
